🇺🇸 What is a Southern 'Meat and Three'?
🏴 Apparently many people don't know what it is, so here's a Scottish review of a Nashville classic...
In my latest YouTube vlog, I took your advice on where to eat in Nashville - many viewers told me to go to Arnold’s to try ‘Meat and three’ for the first time, so I did.
Unfortunately, since posting the video yesterday, many viewers have got in touch to inform me that Arnold’s is currently closed. This makes me sad, as it was one of the best food experiences I’ve had in America to date.
Scottish Guy Tries Southern Food
My YouTube video from Arnold’s shares my experience of trying good, home cooking Southern food in the form of Meat and Three for the first time, and gives a good overview of what it actually is.
Apparently - going by the comments in my video - many don’t know (even those from the South).
So here’s a question from me - is Meat and Three a Nashville-only thing?
In the video, you’ll see:

So that was that - a great experience which, sadly, looks like my wife Teka made a prophecy for - we’ll probably never eat that delicious food at Arnold’s again. In my experience, when a restaurant like that closes, there ain’t no coming back, but I wish them every success if they do.
You can read my review of Arnold’s on my blog.
My wife in photos = Great Success!
Interestingly, in less than 24 hours since the video was published on YouTube, the video is already my number 1 out of 10 previously published vlogs on YouTube, which gives me great joy!
Perhaps it’s because Teka appears in the thumbnail? Maybe i’ll include her in the picture again in future. 😂 If that is the reason many of you watched, you’ll probably also like the YouTube channel my wife and I are creating together, Shaun and Teka.
Before we wrap up, a reminder that you can still help me to plan a group trip that you can join me on in America - I just need a few more responses on my TrovaTrip survey so they can green-light the planning. Fill out my no-obligation survey here.
I miss America. How are things where you are in the states? Please, send me news from you, your loved ones and your home town. I’d truly love to know!

Hello!! I recently found your channel and really enjoy watching your presentations as you curiously explore America's landscapes and vast cuisines. By the way, I live a beautiful 30-minute ferry ride just west of Seattle in Washington State.
We have good friends who live in Houston Texas, and I think your take on southern foods and their legendary hospitality is wonderful. Visting the south is a true experience so thank you for showcasing it so beautifully!!
