Time flies, doesn’t it?
This time last year, I was arriving in the US Pacific Northwest for the first ever time to start a new tour - an epic experience that I’ll keep in my memories forever.
As I think about my next US trips coming up in a few month, I’m also planning to launch a brand new series of vlogs kicking off from Nashville! Those will be launched on Sunday, 4th July to give y’all something to watch while celebrating your Independence Day Holiday.
Uncut Vlogs
Most of the US travel vlogs I post on YouTube are polished - and heavily edited - 8-15 minute-long videos, but that’s such a tiny snippet of my day. I tend to film around an hour of content each day when I’m traveling, and edit the videos down to much smaller versions, with music and voiceover included to make them look more polished.
But I’ve taken feedback that a really cool benefit some of my paid supports here and on Patreon would like to see is uncut versions of my vlogs.
Literally, they want to see the whole hour or so of UNSEEN and unedited footage from each of my videos - without polishing, or in other words, uncut.
So from now on, I’ll be offering the full uncut versions of vlogs to my paid members as a benefit. If you’d like to watch them and support my work, become a paid member here on Substack, or you could sign up as a Patreon member. Whichever platform you choose, you’ll get the same benefit.
And I’ve already released the first uncut episode from a trip I did last year in Oregon. But the new uncut releases will begin proper on June 5th as I start my new Nashville series.
What you’ll get to see in my uncut vlogs:
Things that I didn’t want my viewers seeing
Unflattering double chin shots
Teka’s interventions/commentary from behind the camera
You’ll hear what we listen to on the radio
You’ll hear us singing badly to what’s on the radio
Occasional bad language
Longer sights and sounds from what we see on the road
So if you’d like to support and see these uncut vlogs, become a member - either here or on Patreon.
Differences between the East and West coast of America
I released a new vlog on my YouTube channel talking about some of the main differences I noticed between the East and West coasts of America. I enjoy doing these cultural reactions and reviews of things I saw on the road, and apparently people enjoy watching them.
Starting in June, I'll release a travel vlog every Sunday evening, and a review/reaction type of video on Wednesday evenings - and I look forward to moving from one to two published videos every week.
A look at Washington D.C.
Oh, and then there’s my new website that I mentioned last week - shauntakesamerica.com.
Don’t worry, I didn’t forget about it already. In fact, I’m slowly releasing new posts there, and this week’s will be useful to those who may be planning a trip to Washington D.C.
For example, I wrote a post all about the National Monuments to visit in D.C, and wrote another post about the best brunch spots in the Capitol Hill neighbourhood.
Lot’s going on! Thanks for reading this week’s newsletter. I look forward to planning and revealing more about my next US road trip in the near future.
Take care,
Shaun
