I’m back, baby! 🇺🇸
I may not be the only Scottish Man in America, and I certainly wasn’t the first: go back a few hundred years to the founding of the country, a very large percentage of the early settlers were Scottish, meaning that by the time the US constitution came to be, a large percentage of its signatories were either Scottish, or from Scottish ancestry.
Fast forward to the year 2022, and I am embarking on an epic 5-week road trip across your vast country, and since so many people have been asking, here is a rough itinerary of my trip:
Arrive in New York > Fly to Portland and Seattle > Drive to Vancouver WA > Drive to Crater Lake > Drive to Shasta Lake > Drive to San Francisco > Drive to Los Angeles > Fly to San Antonio > Drive to Houston > Fly to Chicago > Fly to New York.
At the time of writing, the first stage of the trip is already over - I was in New York and flew to the Pacific Northwest, and am currently enjoying my final day in Seattle. Some of my viewers and readers held an impromptu get together here in Seattle last night and it was so amazing to meet everyone. A huge thanks for those who came and said hi!
If you’d like to find out where and when I’m holding meet and greets along the way, your best bet is to watch my ‘stories’ posted on both my Instagram and Facebook Page. My YouTube vlogs take a while to edit and post, and are thus out of date - so the more instant feature of ig and Facebook allow for quicker posts. You can also follow my wife’s instagram too.
So there we go - I hope you may be interested in some of my musings along the way. I’ve already shared my first couple of vlogs on YouTube, which you can watch on this playlist, and will be posting new episodes at least weekly - every Sunday at 6PM UK Time - but will actually hope to post more than that. I’ll also be updating this newsletter as often as I can get a few moments to write.
I'm so happy to see you both having such fun! I've learned a couple simple words so far in Scottish Gaelic and I hope you both have a sgoinneil time here in the U.S. Ed and I wish we could see you during your travels here, but at least we can watch them and feel a part of them!! Thank you for sharing your lives with the world!!
When are you going to come to the South?
Would Love to have you below the Mason Dixon Line 😁
