Hello dear friend,
It feels like yesterday I was starting my new series in Philadelphia (and local area), but with this post, it is officially at an end.
I had a fantastic time exploring the City of Brotherly Love, while I also enjoyed going back to Washington DC and seeing some of the fabulous national monuments.
What can I say? We had a blast - and my waistline has absolutely expanded following the trip.
My latest - and final - vlog from the trip is going live on YouTube shortly (you get to see it first as a subscriber).
We managed to squeeze in quite a lot in a short period of time while in the region, and a huge thanks to Rocky from USA Kilts for being such a good sport, showing us around Philadelphia, taking us to a Flyers game and providing me with the stunning American Dream tartan kilt.
Among many good things we ate during the trip, absolutely the best was the incredible apple dumpling from the Dutch Food Place in Reading Terminal Market. If I’m ever anywhere close to Philadelphia in the near future, I’ll catch a train there just to eat another one of those.
What’s new?
As you may have noticed, I’ve launched a new website. www.shauntakesamerica.com is alive and is my new home on the internet. Please add it to your favourites, check out the posts and leave your comments - and share it with your friends and online communities.
Alongside my weekly YouTube vlogs, I’ll be posting a lot of written posts on the website with the main aim of helping other people who might want to travel to some of the places I’ve been to in America.
For example, I wrote a post describing the best cheesesteaks we had in Philadelphia, for those who might want to refer to it in future.
Where am I going next?
Plans are in the works for later this year, and a totally new US destination for me that I’ve never even been anywhere close to.
Before that though, I’ll be sharing my next YouTube series with the world, which is a trip through the American South, starting in Nashville and ending in Key West. Watch out for those videos arriving over the next few weeks.
That’s all my news for now.
I hope you are having a wonderful spring time and we’ll speak soon.
Shaun
Shaun, I'm so glad you enjoyed Philadelphia! I as born and raised there. For your next trip, you should start in Eastern North Carolina. Visit New Bern, Wilmington, then journey through coastal South Carolina and Georgia. Charleston and Savannah are beautiful and historical cities.
